Nichola Ludlam-Raine uses BÉABA ‘Your Baby’s First Food Cookbook’ to make Chicken, Turnip & Coconut Curry Soup (P 172) in her Babycook® Neo.
Suitable from 7 months of age, this delicious, high protein recipe that is rich in iron is ideal for an evening meal!
For a slightly chunkier curry, which would be suitable for an older baby, simply remove some of the cooking water before blending.
And if you’ve got any of the recipe left over simple pop it into a BÉABA Glass Storage Jar and into the fridge for the next day!
Ingredients for 2 Portions
4 Turnips
60g Chopped Chicken Breast
Spices – 1/8th Tsp Turmeric & 1/8th Tsp Paprika
4 Tbsp of Coconut Milk
Instructions
To make the soup all you’ll need to do is peel and finely slice the turnips and pop them into the steamer basket with the chicken and spices. Fill the steamer reservoir to level 3 and cook for 15 minutes.
When cooked, simply pop the curried turnip pieces, chicken and cooking liquid into the blender, add the coconut milk and blend into a soup.
