Food face masks – My Little Food Critic

Here’s some fun and easy ideas to bring the spa home using natural foods to create your own facemasks. Homemade face masks are a fantastic way to get creative and nourish your skin using clean ingredients with fantastic healing powers!

1.               Yogurt & Turmeric Face Mask

This face mask uses just 3 ingredients and is great for exfoliating, hydrating and softening the skin. The lactic acid in yogurt helps to dissolve dead cells, the honey softens the skin and turmeric brightens and helps with inflammation.

Ingredients: 1 tbsp yogurt, 1 tbsp honey, 1 tsp turmeric powder.

Steps: Combine all of the ingredients and then apply the mixture to a clean face. Leave on for 10 minutes and then wash off.

2.               Avocado Face Mask

This simple face mask will help hydrate the skin and smoothen it.

Ingredients: 1/2 avocado, 2 tbsp honey,

Steps: Combine all of the ingredients and then apply the mixture to a clean face. Leave on for 10 minutes and then wash off.

3.               Almond & Olive Oil Face Mask

This nourishing face mask will soften the skin, add hydration and brighten.

Ingredients: 4 tbsp almonds, 2 tbsp olive oil

Steps: Grind the almonds until they form a powder and then combine with the olive oil. Massage into your skin and then leave on for 10 minutes before washing off.

4.               Strawberry Face Mask

Strawberries are rich in vitamin C and they can help to exfoliate the skin.

Ingredients: 1 cup strawberries, 1 tbsp honey, 1 tbsp olive oil

Steps: Mash the strawberries and then combine with the honey and olive oil. Massage into your face and then leave on for 15 minutes. Rinse off.

5.               Banana Face Mask

Bananas are loaded with nutrients that our skin can benefit from. Next time you have a ripe banana laying around, try this face mask!

Ingredients: 1 ripe banana, 1 tbsp yogurt, a squeeze of lemon juice

Steps: Mash the banana and then combine with the yogurt and lemon juice. Apple to your face and leave on for 15 minutes. Rinse off.
