INGREDIENTS

1 Clove Garlic

200g Basil leaves

100g Walnuts or Pinenuts (optional)

50g Parmesan Cheese (optional)

50ml Extra-virgin olive oil

INSTRUCTIONS

Cut the parmesan in cubes and process in the Béaba Babycook until finely grated. Transfer to a bowl and reserve.

Chop your pine nuts, if using, in the Béaba Babycook and transfer to the grated parmesan bowl.

Roughly chop your garlic and put in in your Béaba Babycook with the basil and a good glug of olive oil.

Add a couple tablespoons of the grated parmesan and pine nuts (if using). Process until smooth.

Add sea salt to taste.

You can use the pesto straight away or keep in the fridge covered with a thin layer of olive oil in an airtight container. Pesto also freezes really well and can be used to add flavour to soups, purees, as a sauce for chicken fish, as a dip, etc.

NUTRIFACTS

Olive oil is LOW in SATURATED FAT and HIGH in heart protecting mono-unsaturated fats.

Basil contains VITAMIN K, which promotes blood coagulation and healthy bones, and certain carotenoids such as LUTEIN, an antioxidant that may help maintain healthy eyes.
