TOFU & CASHEW BURGERS
SUITABLE FROM 9 MONTHS
MAKES 12 BURGERS / PREPARE 10 MINS / COOK 10 MINS
2 Garlic cloves
1 Small red onion
3 tbsp Olive oil
100 gr Button mushrooms
1 Small carrot
1 tsp Smoked paprika
75 gr Roasted unsalted cashew nuts
250 gr Firm tofu, well drained
Put the garlic and onion in your Béaba Babycook® and blend until finely chopped.
Heat 1 tbsp of oil in a frying pan and sauté for 2-3 min, until soft but not brown.
Put the cashew nuts in your Béaba Babycook® and process until finely ground. For nut allergies, use sesame seeds and/or pumpkin seeds and grind very finely too.
Chop the mushrooms and carrots in your Béaba Babycook® until coarse then add them to the frying pan together with the paprika. Cook for further 2-3 min.
Put the cooked vegetables, nuts and crumbled tofu in a bowl and season with black pepper.
Shape the mixture, with wet hands, into 12 little patties.
Heat the remaining oil in the frying pan and fry the patties for 2-4 min on both sides or until golden.
Serve with some salad leaves, cucumber sticks, some tomato chutney and wholemeal rolls.
For younger babies Ensure the nuts are finely ground or leave them out. After cooking the veggies, process them in your Béaba Babycook, with the tofu and nuts until you obtained a smooth puree.

Onions contain fibre to help intestinal transit and prebiotics which feed the beneficial bacterial in your gut. Garlic is high in an important antioxidant, VITAMIN C which also supports the immune system. Laboratory tests indicate that garlic has anti-inflammatory properties and may help modulate the immune system.
Tofu is high in vegan PROTEIN to help growth and tissue repair and low in fat. Tofu is a fermented food so it contains GOOD BACTERIA to support your gut flora. Tofu is also high in CALCIUM essential for strong bones and teeth.
